Ottawa National Forest
2 miles south of Marenisco
Access via Hwy 64
I visited this campground several summers ago with my kids, and I just found my notes. So, without further ado..
The campground is typical, with eleven sites. Most sites are on the lake side of the road.
It was a Thursday night in late June, and we didn’t get into the campground until 7 pm, but less than half of the sites were full. We chose a nice lakeside location with a thin strip of woods on each side.
The site itself was small, with a small, gravelled tent pad, a large picnic table, and a fire ring. It was adequate for our needs, since there were just three of us, but with a larger party, we would have needed more space.
The vault toilets and dumpster were close to our campsite, but we had no problems with either a foul odor nor heavy foot traffic.
The swimming beach is a half-mile drive from the campground, and you must depart the campground and use the main road to access it. We couldn’t find a trail to walk there on foot.
The swimming beach has a sandy beach and a small, roped-off swimming area, and a changing house. There are also several picnic tables and plenty of shade. There are no toilets.

Sounds nice, I might have to go there sometime with my sweetie
